After the initial investment for new shelving and furnishings, kindly donated by the BHCC, funding for new books, games and magazines is driven by the librarian and the English department.
I personally source books and games from charity shops, swap duplicate or unneeded books with new second hand books in my local village ‘Little Library’ (a village initiative to encourage book sharing and swapping) but we also rely heavily on donations through the World Book Day wishlist, as well as our free book allocation from purchases made by you at the Usborne Book Fairs. Our fantastic BHCC are also funding the magazine subscriptions too.
It is with this in mind that I wanted to ask you all to take a look here at our 2022 World Book Day Wishlist and donate a book if you feel that you possibly can. Please also use the QR code below.
A BIG THANK YOU to those who have already bought a book from the list, helping to develop and extend our inclusion and diversity range of stories, I will be putting a book plate in your books to acknowledge your kind donation.
Mrs Emmett, Librarian
