We are delighted to announce the return of our series of talks aimed at sharing ideas and putting the spotlight on mental and physical wellbeing. The date for your diary is Wednesday 23rd November at 7.30pm.
Please join us at Barrow Hills with Andrew Hampton, founder of Girls on Board. Andrew was a Headteacher for 18 years and created Girls on Board in 2017. The approach is used in schools to empower girls to navigate the choppy waters of friendship turbulence for themselves. Teachers support, but don’t intervene, unless bullying is happening. The approach has been recognised by the National Education Union and has been featured on BBC5 Live and in the Times Educational Supplement. Girls on Board is used by around 800 schools world wide and is suitable for girls aged seven to 18. Four staff from Barrow Hills have recently completed the Girls on Board training.
Andrew will give a presentation on ‘helping your daughter navigate friendships’.
It promises to be a very informative and interesting evening and we encourage you to attend. Refreshments will be served from 7.15pm, with the presentation commencing at 7.30pm and finishing around 9.00pm. In order to gauge numbers, please book via the website if you would like to attend. There is no charge for this event and you are welcome to bring friends and family.
