Welcome to the Barrow Hills Bulletin, your weekly newsletter with a snapshot of life at School.
Message From the Head
Dear Parents,
A wonderful final week of the Spring Term at Barrow Hills, truly reflecting our ‘heads, hearts and hands’ ethos.
Demonstrating strong academic prowess, Thomas and Joshua (Year 8) performed exceptionally well in our inaugural entry to the IAPS Debating Competition. They won the regional round, against Aldro, Prebendal and Danes Hill schools, which we hosted on Monday, and will now progress to the national finals in May.
Year 3 enjoyed an engaging environmental visit to Sayers Croft, while Year 8 travelled to the Globe Theatre for an inspiring experience of a live Shakespeare performance.
The Easter Bonnet Parade and Spring Showcase were a delight, thank you for your support, and for the tremendous energy and community spirit shown at today’s annual ‘Bunny Run’ cross-country and egg hunt event.
For families with children in Upper Prep, please note that a flexi-boarding option will soon return for the first time in decades. Further details, including dates for free taster sessions, can be found on this week’s Portal ahead of the Summer Term.
For all families, our extra-curricular club brochure and accompanying booking form will be shared shortly, enabling children to sign up in advance for a great programme of summer enrichment.
Looking ahead, please note that our Spring Art Exhibition will take over the Chapel from 22nd–24th April. We will host a private viewing with refreshments for parents on 22nd April, from 4.30–6.30pm – do come and celebrate curiosity, creativity and the joy of making, with bold art and big ideas.
Thank you for your continued support this term, and we wish you a restful and enjoyable Easter break. Mrs Burnett will be running a Sports Camp at Barrow Hills, should you be looking for holiday activities – you can book spaces here.
Mr Towers, Head
