Message From the Head
Dear Parents,
A notably rainy half term, but that did not stop us on the sports field or in the classroom.
In terms of outcomes, we are currently receiving results from senior school applications. Indicators suggest another strong year, of the eight entrants to Churcher’s College at 11+ or 13+, all eight have received offers. Likewise, we have 100% application-to-offer rates for RGS, Seaford College, St Catherine’s, Cranleigh and Frensham Heights. From King Edward’s, I note that we already have eight scholarships secured, with further awards coming in from other schools. More news to come – well played, Year 6 and Year 8.
Looking ahead, we have another Open House event on 6th March. Reception to Year 5 will be inviting parents in to look at their book work and to join activities that, in time, lead to outcomes such as the senior school offers noted above. Year 6 will be cracking on with High School Musical that day, and Years 7 and 8 have some hard studying ahead.
This week we also enjoyed our now notable annual fixture, Grandparents’ Afternoon. It was a fantastic turnout and such a lovely opportunity to celebrate learning across generations.
A half term break lies ahead, and we look forward to welcoming pupils back on Tuesday 24th February. On the Monday, staff will be together for training on phonics, literacy and digital technologies.
Warm regards,
Mr Towers, Head
