Children thoroughly enjoyed getting creative this week as they combined geography and Forest School to create an ant theme park. They carefully measured the boundary and then made the rides; a stick in the ground and a propped up leaf became a water slide with a bit of imagination. Some children created paths between the different rides and others discussed the ease or difficulty of building on a hill. Toothpicks with triangles of paper stuck on became flags to identify the different rides. Children were then asked to create a map of the park from a birds eye view, thinking about symbols that are used on maps and also using some of their own. The results were impressive!
