Scope Presentation

13th May 2016

The charity Scope received a boost to its fundraising efforts this week, following our presentation in assembly of a cheque for £1831.89. This was an incredible amount which was raised by our children as part of the recent Lent Appeal. Children in Nursery and Kindy took part in a sponsored trike ride, Reception did an obstacle course challenge, Year 1 completed a pancake race whilst Year 2 opted for laps around the Pre-Prep garden. The Junior Prep department walked two miles in fancy dress to King Edward’s whilst the Middle Prep children in Years 5 and 6 created a piece of work for inclusion in the Barrow Hills Lent Booklet, which was sold in aid of Scope. Year 7 held a “Rounders in Onesies” match and Year 8 ran a car wash. The remainder of the total £2,549.64 raised through these activities was shared between Guide Dogs for the Blind; Stepping Stones, an independent special school in Hindhead and CAFOD.

We are absolutely thrilled to receive this donation and commitment, as well as creative thinking demonstrated by children at Barrow Hills has resulted in a truly impressive fundraising achievement. The money donated to Scope will be put to good use, helping those with a learning disability enjoy the same opportunities as everyone else.
